CES 2008: Panasonic Press Conference - DMP-BD50
This just in from CES: Panasonic has just unveiled the new DMP-BD50 Blu-ray player with full BD Live (profile 2.0) implementation. The player will internally decode Dolby TrueHD as well as DTS HD Master Audio and will have the same SD card functionality as the current DMP-BD30. More to come..

CES: Samsung Bows New Dual-Format Blu-ray/HD DVD Player
Updating its recently-released BD-UP5000, Samsung says it will introduce the new BD-UP5500 Duo HD player in the second half of 2008.
Like its predecessor, the BD-UP5500 will support both Blu-ray and HD DVD discs, as well as the latest BD-Java and HDi interactivity available (including full support of Blu-ray Profile 1.1).
Samsung says the BD-UP5500 will also feature 7.1 PCM, DTS-HD High Resolution and Master audio, plus Dolby TrueHD Bistream output via HDMI 1.3.
The deck's ethernet connection will enable firmware upgrades and web-enabled features with compatible HD DVD discs. (Company reps tell us the deck will not be BD-Live compliant, meaning it will not support web-enabled features on certain Blu-ray discs.)
The BD-UP5500 is expected to retail for $599, making it the lowest-priced dual format player announced yet. (The BD-UP5000 is currently retailing at $799.)

CES: Samsung Unveils BD-P1500 Blu-ray Player
Samsung has taken the wraps off its first standalone Profile 1.1 Blu-ray player, the fourth-gen BD-P1500.
Like Samsung's third-gen player (the BD-P1400, released last fall), the BD-P1500 will carry an Ethernet port for firmware upgrades, but company says it is not certified BD Live, meaning it will not support web-enabled features included on certain discs.
The BD-P1500 will also feature bitstream audio output of 7.1 PCM, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD High Resolution and Master Audio via HDMI.
Due this June, the BD-P1500 is expected to retail for $399.

CES: Philips Intros $349 Blu-ray Player
Philips has announced its latest Blu-ray player, the BDP7200, which it says will retail for the value price of $349.
The first Profile 1.1 compliant player from Philips, the deck boasts full 1080p/24 and Deep Color support, and the ability to control connected devices using the EasyLink HDMI Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) protocols.
Although the company's press release makes no mention of audio codec support, the eagle-eyed folks over at Engadget snapped this pic from behind the demo unit, which would seem to indicate a lack of 7.1 audio support.
Philips says the BDP7200 will hit store shelves this April.

CES 2008: Sir Howard Stringer is Feeling the Blu(e)s
But that's a good thing. In his address to the press today at CES, the CEO of Sony Corporation was smiling when he spoke about his company's commitment to Blu-ray Disc. Sony's presentation was limited to existing models such as the BDP-S300, BDP-S500 and the BDP-S2000ES. Sr. VP Randy Waynick showed how Blu-ray disc is a major part of Sony's HDNA push with products spanning several groups: home video (BD players), Computers (VAIO with BD drives), and Multimedia (PlayStation 3). Additionally, he discussed a future BRAVIA LCD television with modular components, such as a plug-in BD/DVD drive or additional HDMI inputs.
Sony displayed a stylish Media Center VAIO PC with Blu-ray, and the current HES-V1000, which integrates a 200 disc BD/DVD/CD changer, BD writer, and 500GB HDD ($3499). Waynick also highlighted the new BD-ROM/writer BWU-200S, which at under $200 "has the ability to put Blu-ray in any PC". The drive appears to be 4x as well.
New Blu-ray products were limited to the prototype "Sapphire 3" and "Sapphire 4" which look to be BD-Live enabled successors to the BDP-S300/500 players. Also confirmed was the ability for the PS3 to be updated to full Profile 2.0 BD-Live capability, though no date was given. Finally, Sony highlighted the recent announcement of Warner Home Video's commitment to exclusively release in the Blu-ray Disc format. WHV's exclusivity gives Blu-ray a decisive content advantage when it comes to the competition.

At the Sony booth, they are showcasing two new prototype BD-Live players. The Sapphire 3 and 4 will both be Profile 2.0. Sony also has indicated that the PS3 will get a BD-Live upgrade sometime in the future.

я новости беру с highdefdigest. и про хд-двд была только про комбо самсунг.
так погоди, еще не началось же выставко. )))
к тому же я ускоспециализированные новости беру на сайтах которые мне интересны. и если кто-то еще будет про остальное кидать новсти то прикольно будет. ведь помимо hd-dvd и blu-ray есть и плазмы и куча всего.

Японская компания Pioneer планирует продемонстрировать новый плазменный телевизор высокой четкости (HD) на предстоящей выставке CES 2008 в Лас Вегасе, США. Его отличительной чертой является крайне малая толщина, которая составляет всего 9 мм. Хотя данная информация была удалена с сайта BBC, она затем была официально подтверждена Pioneer. Как утверждают представители компании, это самый тонкий плазменный телевизор в мире на сегодня. Кроме того, Pioneer также продемонстрирует новые модели плазменных телевизоров из линии Kuro, которые способны отображать исключительно глубокий уровень черного цвета и более широкий диапазон оттенков цветов.  Именно модель Pioneer Kuro PDP-5080 HD была объявлена лучшим плоскопанельным телевизором 2007 года по версии известного ресурса CNet. Тем не менее, из-за растущей конкуренции со стороны LCD телевизоров Pioneer была вынуждена приостановить строительство нового завода по производству плазменных панелей. Компания DXG известна своими недорогими цифровыми решениями, и в этот раз она представила на CES свою новую видеокамеру DXG-566V HD - самую дешевую видеокамеру в мире, способную снимать HD видео. Новинка обладает 5 Мпикс матрицей и способна снимать видео с разрешением вплоть до 1280 x 720 пикселей. Видеокамера имеет 3-дюймовый ЖК-экран и 32 Мбайт встроенной памяти, также есть поддержка SD-карт. Возможно, не самые впечатляющие характеристики, но всё оправдывает рекордно низкая цена – всего $149. я просто дал информацию о том что цена на HD камеры упали ниже плинтуса, хотя хар-ки на самом деле дерьмо и мне такая камера даже даром не нужна. The HF100 model is pretty much the HF10 without the on-board flash. The HF10 dual flash and HF100 flash models should rollout in April for $1,099 and $899, respectively. A $999 HV30 model brings all the VIXIA goodness to MiniDV cassettes.

Благодаря своему приятному дизайну и отличному широкому экрану, PSP хорошо подходит на роль портативного проигрывателя фильмов. Однако на пути от киностудии к этому самому экрану фильмы подстерегает множество препятствий, отравляющих жизнь любителям мобильного кино. К счастью, этих препятствий становится все меньше. На CES 2008 Sony объявила о том, что вскоре владельцы PSP, у которых есть еще и PS3, смогут загружать содержимое приобретенных ими Blu-ray-фильмов через домашнюю консоль на портативную.
