But Das Boot was great and I truely liked "M" too - from the newer movies I could recommend "Das Parfüm", "Die Welle", "Wer früher stirbt ist länger tot" & "Das Leben der Anderen"

Ja, "Das Leben der Anderen".
Es ist ein prächtiger Film und eindringlichen Spielfilmdebüt des Regisseur Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck!

ORIGINAL: Великий Вождь

Despite the interest which was shown in some messages about cultural differences in farting during the family reunion and celebrating the defeat of Germany in WWII, The Great Leader (that is the name I have in this forum) would like to kindly welcome you as a new member of our, sometimes full of controversy, forum and I hope that you will become our permanent member and will participate in our life by bringing some useful information such as the photos of your precious collection of movies and some others goodies you might have.

P.S. I would like to remind Lenny that there is no stricked rules about using English. We use constantly English when we post news about releases and some news as well. So I guess we will be fine.

почитал, как вождь приветствует новичка.. эх как таких приветствий не хватает каждому оболтусу, который только начинает свой путь на форуме.,)

Are we gona try and correct everyone's mistakes here? 'Cause everyone made a few, including our 'guest of honor'.

Что они делают 9 мая? Правда ли, что у них пукнуть за столом, является комплиментом хозяйке (кроме шуток, ходит такая байка)?

Grun D was also asking, among other things, what you do, if anything, on the 8-9th of May, the day Russians still celebrate some kind of victory. Which is really pathetic now, if you ask me, but I got an unpopular opinion about this. Oh, and that there is some kind of stupid demeaning joke going around, of which I never heard of, that if you fart at a dinner table in Germany, it serves as a compliment to the host, or something like that.

funny topic. Who else has questions to BumBum? For ex., you can ask him about his political convictions or what does hi think of ecology problems. Why not? Hi must be an expert in all fields, that's for sure. Hi's a foreigner! - that explains a lot!

Yeah, I know, it's like a foreigner walked in our village for the first time, and locals never seen one. Started asking the strange creature from the far land, how things are.
Whatever. This topic is not just for BumBum, but for anyone who might have been checking out this forum but can't speak/type in Russian. Plus a chance for our locals to practice some English. Actualy, I've been waiting for an excuse to start such a topic.

What are your favorite movies and have you seen some germany ones? Did you like them?

I haven't seen many, so happens I learned English and Spanish first, and so I watch movies primarily in those languages. But I did love Lola Rennt, watched it four times in theaters, even tried to learn German 'cause of it, but never went past some basic sentences and counting. So my knowledge of German movies revolves around Franka Potente, love her, seen Der Krieger und die Kaiserin as well as Anatomie, and some others.

You'll have to try harder than that. I'll be around for some time.

What did I do on May 8th - I assume I worked and probably was in the cinema - don't know :)
Also have never heart of the fart thing ;) And to be hones I wouldn't want to try it as it would be an insult :)

I don't think that I'm such an expert but you can ask anything ;)
Any tp practice english a bit can't be that bad.

Wow - you've tried to learn german. Must be really hard. I'm more than happy that I don't have to learn it - so I'm impressed. Learning russian must be extremly hard, as I had to learn the letters first. And I'm not that good in learning languages - I'm happy that my english is ok.

Run Lola Run was also entertaining. Didn't like Goodbye Lenin that much as I expected a comedy and it was a drama. But a good one. Just expected something else ;)

Ps.: My girlfriend wants to know how you can write cyrillic and english on the same keyboard?

It's easy - just switching between cyrillic and english (Shift+CTRL or Shift+Alt)
