German 4-Disc set has the edge, since it has both the "Theatrical version" (DD) and "Director’s Cut" (DTS). If you only want the "Director’s Cut" and the extras, choose the R2 Dutch/UK and R4 Austalia 3-Disc release or R3, since they have a DTS audio track.
According to the review on
www.michaeldvd.com.au the Australian release has audio sync problems, although user comments on the site say there are no problems.
Note, that the R2 French 3-Disc set includes only the "Theatrical version", and it’s missing the audio commentary. The R1 double sided disc has the "Director’s Cut", but no DTS.
General note: All DC/SE -releases include the (approx.) 4,5 hour -dосиmеntary from the original Laserdisc. In the R1, "Storyboards" from that dосиmеntary are moved to the "Side 1".
